9AM.art
9AM.art is the artistic practice of San Francisco–based mixed media artist Arshla. Painting since childhood, she returned to art after a decade-long hiatus shaped by self-doubt and perfectionism. San Francisco reignited her creative practice, offering steady exposure to art, iconic architecture, and everyday rituals like bringing home fresh flowers.
Her work centers on abstract florals and freeform abstraction, combining paint with tactile textures that invite closer looking. She paints intuitively, without a predetermined plan, allowing the process to guide each piece. Morning hours are her most creative time, inspiring the name 9AM.art.
A distinctive aspect of her practice is personifying each floral work with a female name, encouraging viewers to relate to the paintings as living presences—much like sharing space with a loved one. Her work celebrates imperfection, softness, and emotional connection through abstraction.
Collectors and admirers have often expressed that her works bring them joy and cheerfulness. And some feel a resemblance of palette and strokes to the likes of Van Gogh’s classic works.
