Annie Clavel
Annie Clavel is a mixed media artist whose work has been exhibited in France and in the US. She grew up in Paris, France, where she studied mathematics and computer science. She gained a master’s degree in both subjects and taught them at schools throughout France and Tunisia.
She moved from France to Long Beach, California, in 2006. Once in the US, she created Les Jolis Trésors Art Gallery in Long Beach and managed it from 2009 to 2014, curating exhibitions, moderating art talks, and teaching art.
She has had several solo exhibitions at Gallery 825, in Los Angeles, C Gallery on Broadway in Long Beach, Orange County Center for Contemporary Art (OCCCA) in Santa Ana, LA Artcore in Los Angeles, and at The Loft in Paris. She has organized an Artists Exchange between Paris and Los Angeles, with LA Artcore.
Annie is a board member of Women Painters West. She is in charge of marketing. She is an active member of Los Angeles Art Association (LAAA), Southern California Women Caucus for the Art (SCWCA), California Art League (CAL) and the Huntington Beach Art Center (HBAC).
From 2017 to 2024 Annie was chair of marketing and treasurer at OCCCA. Her art is in private collections in France, Tunisia, Germany, Canada, Japan and USA..
