Devorah Brinckerhoff

Artist Bio Devorah Brinckerhoff is a mixed media artist with over 30 years of experience, known for her deeply introspective work exploring trauma, healing, and self-discovery. She earned her BFA in painting from the Rhode Island School of Design and has exhibited in galleries across the U.S. and Europe, with her work held in private collections worldwide.

Featured in design, architecture, and art magazines, her work resonates for its ability to hold space for the unspoken and foster deep emotional connection.

As the creator of the Soul Portrait process, Devorah merges art with personal story, guiding individuals - survivors, veterans, and those at life’s crossroads - through creative alchemy. By incorporating personal materials like letters and photographs, she helps clients symbolically release past identities and reconnect with their true selves.

Rooted in a lifelong fascination with the human figure and the way tension is held in the body. Her work is also shaped by her rural Vermont upbringing, which instilled a reverence for the unseen forces that impact us. She now lives in Lake Oswego, Oregon, with her husband and three children, continuing to explore the intersection of art, identity, and transformation.

At its core, Devorah’s work is a meditation on endurance and emergence - what it means to process, release, and reclaim oneself. She believes art is not just a reflection of life, but a force capable of redefining it.
