E. Mark Gross

Artist Bio E. Mark Gross, known professionally as E. Mark and E. Mark ArtistTM, is an abstract artist whose practice explores rhythm, movement, and symbolic form through layered mark-making and vibrant color relationships. Working primarily in mixed media on archival paper, he creates compositions ranging from single-page works to diptychs, triptychs, and polyptychs.

In addition to works on paper, his practice includes composed studio arrangements that are photographed and produced as giclée prints, as well as complementary animations that extend the visual language of his drawings. Across these formats, his works emphasize visual continuity and directional flow.

His compositions feature repeating arcs, glyph-like forms, and carefully structured patterns suggesting movement through landscapes, water, wind, and celestial space without resolving into literal narrative imagery.

A distinctive element of E. Mark’s work is the presence of a hidden E signature embedded within each composition. This subtle visual puzzle invites viewers to look more closely and discover the artist’s signature integrated within the artwork.

Before focusing on art, E. Mark practiced law at a major international law firm and later worked in leadership roles in game design. These experiences influence his artistic approach to structure, systems thinking, and the incorporation of engaging visual elements.
