Artist Bio My practice centers on scratchboard as a primary medium, utilizing its subtractive process to explore transformation, identity, and the thin veil between dichotomies. By carving light from darkness, figurative images emerge through erasure, patience, and acceptance. This method mirrors the conceptual core of my work: a slow, subconscious unraveling that unfolds through intention and autonomy.
My figures often exist in liminal states—suspended, dissolving, or mid- emergence. Rendered with anatomical precision and fluid, contrasting textures, they suggest bodies as vessels shaped by ritual, intuition, and inner cosmologies.
The work engages metaphysical themes through embodied figures, giving physical form to spiritual and psychological states. Mounting the work on dimensional wood panels emphasizes each piece as both image and artifact.
Alongside my fine art practice, I am the creator of M33: Galaxy of Hybrids, a queer science-fiction comic series examining identity, power, and coexistence. Its world-building and symbolism are woven into my scratchboard work, allowing narrative and visual language to move fluidly across mediums.
