Yuting Wang

Artist Bio Born in Beijing in 1992, Yuting Wang is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist based in Sunnyvale. Her practice spans figurative watercolor painting, sculpture, and installation art. She began studying traditional Chinese ink painting at a young age, which later shaped her passion for watercolor. Yuting completed her undergraduate studies in Israel and earned a master’s degree in Sustainable Design and Construction at Stanford University. In 2023, she transitioned from a seven-year career in construction management to becoming a full-time artist.

Influenced by diverse and often opposing cultural experiences, Yuting’s practice focuses on paradox as a way to understand complexity. Through a combination of stylized yet realistic figurative forms and abstract, expressive brushwork, her work investigates the interplay of dualities. The resulting works create a visual field that feels both real and imagined, objective and subjective, challenging simplified narratives and absolute claims.

Yuting has exhibited in galleries across California, including Arc Gallery (San Francisco), Modern Eden Gallery (San Francisco), Olive Hyde Art Gallery (Fremont), Oakland Asian Cultural Center (Oakland), Mills Station Arts and Culture Center (Sacramento), Brea Gallery (Brea), and Pacific Art League (Palo Alto), among others.

In July 2025, Yuting held her first solo exhibition at Lindsay Dirkx Brown Gallery in San Ramon. That same year, she received an honorable mention in the 6th Annual Women in Watercolor International Competition. Her work has also been featured in publications such as Artist Talk Magazine, CanvasRebel, and Shoutout LA.
